At 1838 hours Friday evening the company was dispatched with Tanker 45 (Kinzer FC) for a chimney fire in the 5100 block of Amish Rd in Salisbury Township. Engine 422 responded 3 minuets after dispatch with a crew of 5. Deputy 45 (Anderson) arrived with nothing showing from a 2 1/2 story stone house. Engine 422 arrived and sent their crew into the basement to check the wood stove. Truck 42 arrived and laddered the house to check the chimney. Rescue 42 and Tanker 45 supplied manpower to the operation. Crews had the fire under control in 30 minuets.
At 2020 hours Rescue 42 was dispatched for a Vehicle Accident with Entrapment assisting Christiana FC at the intersection of Rt 41 and Sadsbury Ave. With a crew still in the firehouse from the chimney fire, the Rescue responded in less than 30 seconds with a crew of 6. Engine 521 arrived first and started vehicle stabilization and fire suppression. Working together with the crew from Engine 521 the Rescue crew extricated 2 patients from one vehicle. Truck 42 also responded and provided additional tools and manpower. 42 units were clear of the scene at 2111 hours.
Earlier in the day the company also handled a Vehicle Accident in the 5600 block of Lincoln Hwy. |
