| Author:Lieutenant Chris Slaymaker |
| Tue, Dec 22nd, 2009 3:12:00 pm -
On Tuesday afternoon Lancaster County Wide Communications dispatched box 4-2-2 for a house on fire in the 5100 block of Lincoln Hwy in Salisbury Township. This brought units from Gap, Kinzers, Christiana, Bart (RIT), and White Horse fire and ambulance. Deputy 4-2 was advised by LCWC of a possible chimney fire with extension. Engine 4-2-2 and Truck 4-2 responded back to back in 3 minutes with 10. Deputy 4-2 arrived to find smoke issuing from the chimney. Upon further investigation there was a working fire found on the first floor. Engine 4-2-2's crew advanced a line to the first floor knocking down the visible fire. Truck 4-2's crew went to the roof and started cleaning out the chimney. The remainder of the assignment arrived and assisted with manpower. The fire was under control in 30 minutes with the incident being scaled back several minuets later. The final units cleared at 1623. |
