At 1444 hrs Station 4-2 was alerted for a full company assist for a house fire in the 6000 block of Old Philadelphia Pike assisting Station 4-9 (White Horse). Deputy 4-9 (Beyer) responded and was given the additional of a chimney fire with extension. Deputy 4-9 arrived to find smoke showing from the chimney and the attached roof area. All 4-2 units were on the street with in 6 minutes with a total staffing of 20. Truck 4-2 (Capt. C. Beiler) arrived and was instructed to back into the drive way, ladder the house and send the crew to the roof. Engine 4-2-2 (Asst. Chief McGowan) arrived and sent its crew to man power staging. Rescue 4-2 (Chief Kurtz) arrived and assisted with interior personnel, and assisted in placing ground ladders on all sides of the house. First in crews from Station 4-9 found fire in the chimney with minor extension to the roof area. 4-9 and 4-2 crews were assisted on scene by Tanker and Squad 4-4 (Intercourse) and Chester County Engine 33-5 (Honeybrook). The fire was placed under control at 1507. Station 4-2 cleared the call at 1534.
